My attention of has been drawn to a malicious, unfounded, and deeply misleading release circulating on social media and various platforms. The publication falsely alleges that a security personnel attached to my entourage accidentally discharged the firearm that tragically cut short the life of a promising young man, Fatai Aninku, at an event held in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
I wish to state unequivocally, without any ambiguity, that this claim is entirely false, fabricated, and a blatant attempt to distort the facts while deflecting accountability from the actual perpetrators.
To set the record straight and assist the public and law enforcement agencies, we present the following unassailable facts:Contradiction in Physical Profile: The circulating reports claim that the officer who fired the fatal shot was dressed in all-black attire and had his face covered.
Definitive Alibi on Personnel Attire: On the said date, absolutely none of my attached security personnel wore black outfits, nor did any of them cover their faces. My security team operated under strict professional conduct, fully visible, unmasked, and in completely different, authorised apparel. The individual described in the allegations does not belong to, and was never associated with, my team. I am deeply saddened by the tragic demise of Fatai Aninku. A loss of life under such reckless circumstances is a monumental tragedy that must not be swept under the carpet or obscured by false narratives.Consequently, we hereby make the following firmed demands to ensure justice is served:Full Video Footage: I demand the immediate public release and preservation of all video recordings, phone clips, and CCTV footage captured by attendees or surveillance systems at the venue to reveal the exact timeline and identity of the shooter.
Organiser’s Official Statement: We call upon the event organisers to come forward immediately and issue a formal, transparent statement regarding the security deployment and the incident that occurred on their premises.
Rigorous Security Investigation: We urge the Ogun State Police Command and relevant intelligence agencies to launch a thorough, unbiased, and swift investigation into the matter.
Identification of the Culprit: We demand a meticulous forensic audit to trace, identify, and apprehend the masked individual in black who fired the shot, along with the persons or entities they were truly attached to.
Iwill not fold my arms and allow my reputation to be smeared, nor will I allow the memory of the deceased to be denied justice through misdirection. I am fully prepared to cooperate with law enforcement authorities to ensure the real culprit is brought to book.
My heart goes out to the family of Fatai Aninku during this incredibly painful time. I stand firmly with them in the demand for absolute truth and justice.
