A group of concerned youths in Eniosa Area has called on the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, to concentrate on his administrative responsibilities amid rising tensions over an alleged third term agenda involving a lawmaker in the area.
The group expressed concern that the lingering controversy surrounding the third term speculation has continued to generate unnecessary distractions within the local government. The youths warned that such political developments could hinder effective governance and disrupt peace at the grassroots.
The group specifically urged Hon. Kamorudeen not to use his office or personal influence in a manner that could create misunderstanding or stir unrest among residents of Lagelu Local Government. They stressed that public office holders must uphold neutrality and prioritize the collective interest of the people over political alignments.
According to the youths, the recurring discourse on a third term agenda has dominated public conversation in recent times, raising fears about the stability of the local political environment. They called on all stakeholders to act responsibly and avoid actions capable of overheating the polity.
The Eniosa Youth also appealed to the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to wade into the matter and ensure that due process and democratic principles are upheld across Lagelu Local Government.
Reaffirming their commitment to peace and good governance, the group maintained that leaders at all levels must remain focused on service delivery, warning that any attempt to destabilize the local government for political gain would be resisted by the youth population.
